Miss Wanda - Substitute

" From the first moment we recognized Wanda as a caring, good hearted natural caregiver.  With her decade of experience, coupled with her education and compassion we are so happy for a Substitute like Wanda.  Teacher Introduction Hello my name is Miss Wanda, I will be subbing here at Terri’s Treehouse, I moved here 4 years ago and discovered this Program, at that time the Treehouse wasn’t hiring, luckily they are now!  My philosophy has always been that children learn through example and they need a nurturing environment and should be challenged to further they capabilities.  Above all, I believe the most important is the safety and happiness of each child.   I have worked in childcare for about 10 years.  In my free time I enjoy gardening with flower, decorating my home and being creative.  For about 6 years, I sold tables and mirrors at art shows with painted WI fish.  I look forward to meeting all of you and your children.  Thank you for welcoming me. Food to Table Service

" Terri's Treehouse is a member of the USDA Food Program and is excited to start children off to a healthy start. We do offer Family-Style meals giving the children choices in all food groups, giving the children control of what they consume while also working on manners and fine motor control, this also supports a prosocial atmoshere that is ideal for establishin traditions around the table.  Every Tuesday we have Try-It Tuesday which gets the c hildren excited for trying something new that typically was grown locally or even in our garden we learn about the origin and it helps us feel connected with the food.  Our recipes have been published in Wisconsin School Garden Network and Emily has been a guest forum speaker for local and state wide School Farm to Table Nutrition Conferences.  The Program also has on-site cook Miss Laura Schultz  she has been the cook here at The Treehouse for 8 years.  Being a mother of two she was suprised at how much they really do "enjoy trying new meals especially when they can grow it!  They really do absorb daily a new discovery and  you can tell the teachers are so dedicated and involved." Says Miss Laura "I serve Breakfast, Lunch and Snack and I am up-to-date trained in SafeServ. along with my entry level eduation in early child education.   We follow guidlines based on USDA Meal Patterns and Criteria.  I enjoy continually creating new meals from a variety of backgrounds, and I try to offer a Nutritious Diet full of special ingredients, shopping locally for goods and of course use our garden as much as possible we also have an indoor greenhouse the students maintain during dormant months to add flavor to our meals.  We try to at least one vegetarian meal & multi-cultural meal a week along with several Home-Style meals and the Classics. It's amazing what they try and like if given the opportunity!  Accomdations to children's diets are made based on families needs and preferences". "

Miss Emilymae - Program Director

" My name is Miss Emilymae King,  I have been the Program Director here at Terri’s Treehouse for 11 years prior to that I was the Preschool Teacher here.  I have worked with children as long as I can think back, to my purpose, as a 10 year old new big sister.  I worked as an Aid in Highschool and became a new mom shortly after.  I continue to go to school, starting out way back when, for Early Education working for my Associates at Nicolet.  I have my Administrators Credential from UW Platteville and continue my education in this field.   I'm a mother of two Leah and Landen and happily residing with my bleded family on the Island.  I love this community and I am very active in advocating to preserve our lakes and lands in this area, we have so many opportunities right here to grow along with all the natural resources to raise a resourceful family.  Haivn gthe Program for so long I've been able to share and grow with our large scale child-friendly garden and workgin towards becoming Nationally Accredited has been such a journey.   I am a Level 11 at The Registry.  I am also a Certified Trainer and love to learn with other professionals and host workshops and sessions for our community. My vision for this program is to continue to grow with our community, children,  families and our ever faceted culture; by always having an open mind, patient and supportive of new possibilities,  we can strive for excellence but be humble along our journey. Miss Terri - Administrator

" Hello my name is Terri Caywood, I am the Administrator of Terri's Treehouse.  I have been in this Program for over 20 years, and took over this program 5 years ago, after being the Director for several years.  I am a Registry Level 11 and a Trainer of Early ED. Cont. Education.  I get to know every face real well once they walk through my doors and have strong ties with this community.  My passion is evident, I very much enjoy the time I get to spend with these children, teachers and families.  There's an amazing feeling that overcomes me when a parent comes back to visit and recall, smiling, when I was their teacher a generation ago.  I know how important it is to have quality early education and care for the Northwoods and will never forget that this is our Mission.  Our Programs supports the resiliency of our future and we will continue to set the bar of expectations which can only be gained through growth with Reputable values that reflects our Philosophy which is aligned with the Nationally Accredited Standards, NAEYC.  "
